Walking in the footsteps of giants
For most people their first giant encounter was most likely with David and Goliath, Jack and the Beanstalk, or some other bed time story. For me it was different.
When I was very small, not yet five, I lay on my grandmother's lap late on a Saturday night watching Creature Features, hosted by Bob Wilkins. I grew up in Nevada. We received much of the California broadcasting. There was no cable in those days. The movie we were watching had a giant in it. My grandmother commented that my great grandfather was a giant. I asked if she meant my grandpa with the one hand. I thought she meant him because he was six and a half feet tall. She said, “No, that is your grandfather. I'm talking about your great grandfather, he was much bigger.”
I am told that my great grandfather was seven feet tall or more and could grab people by their head with one hand his finger tips resting on their eyebrows his palm on the base of their skull, he would guide them as he pleased. My mother reports that his ears were between six and seven inches from top to bottom. I was told how he had a horse that was six feet high at the back and he could be seen over the saddle from the shoulders up. That's a big man.
The interesting thing is, through my life from grade school to adulthood, I have met with different people who could not believe the story of my great grandfather's size. From polite people who I could feel thought I was telling tall tales, (Pun intended.) to people who flat out called me a liar or an idiot. This compelled me to do a lot of giant research in my teens.
Red-Haired Giants of Nevada
Growing up in Nevada I had heard stories of the Sitecah from the Paiute Indians that lived in the area. They told of red-haired men and women of light colored skin as tall as 12 feet who originally lived in the area when the Paiutes had first arrived. Evidently these human giants liked to eat the Indians so they had problems making friends. The Indian tribes of the area finally joined and ambushed the giants killing most of them on the spot. The remaining giants took refuge in a cave. The Indians demanded they come out and fight but the giants refused. So, the Indians piled brush into the cave and set it on fire. Any giants that did run out were shot with arrows, the remaining giants were asphyxiated.
In the 1800s this cave was known as Horse Shoe Cave but is now called Lovelock Cave. Lovelock cave is located around 20 miles South of Lovelock Nevada.
In 1911 bat guano harvesters started working in this same cave. After digging out four feet of guano they found many broken arrows that the Indians had fired into the cave as well as other interesting artifacts, and yes, they found red-haired giants. Even in the shrunken mummified condition the skeletons ranged in height from 8 feet to just under 12 feet. I did an internet search on this subject and found that the reported heights are very different from what I am stating here. (Internet says 6.5 feet to 8 feet.) My account is from what I was told growing up in Nevada. I will leave it up to you to decide on the heights based on the photo of one of the cave giant's jaw bone and dental cast of a regular man's teeth. Most of the artifacts have been lost over time due to lack of interest from science. Go figure. However some of the artifacts are in the Humboldt Museum at Winnemucca Nevada and in the Nevada State Historical Society's museum at Reno.
The Review-Miner June 19, 1931 Reported the find of two giant skeletons in the Humboldt lake bed. Both skeletons were wrapped in a gum treated fabric. The first skeleton was 8 and one half feet tall, the second was just under 10 feet tall.
In 1877 prospectors outside of Eureka Nevada found a human leg broken off four inches above the knee cap including the foot. This leg was found sticking out of solid red quartzite rock dating from the time of the dinosaurs. After using their picks to extract their find from the rock they took it to Eureka. Medical doctors examined the bones and stated that it did indeed belong to a human of very modern appearance. The interesting part was the size of the bones. They measured from heel to knee 39 inches. The owner would have stood over 12 feet tall. The area was searched for more remains but nothing else was found. This story was heavily published in the newspapers of the time.
Red-Haired Giants of Hawaii
For over 20 years now I have been living in the islands of Hawaii. Only a few years after I had first moved here I again heard about red-haired giants. Two giant 10 and 12 foot red-haired skeletons were found in a lava cave in a canyon behind Olowalu Hawaii. I drove out to Olowalu to see what I could find out. After making my way off the main road onto the old road. I turned up the canyon in which I had been told the research was happening. After a little exploring I found some excellent though strange petroglyphs on the side of a rock out cropping. I was just able to take a few pictures before a white SUV drove up with a man and a woman in it. The woman was driving. The woman told me that I would have to leave the area. After talking with her for a few minutes she admitted that Red-haired skeletons had been found and that they were much larger than they should be. She would not tell me any exact measurements. She did say that they did not want to upset the Hawaiians with their discoveries. The man never spoke even when I greeted him.
It should be noted that although there is the spirit of Pele that is the Goddess of fire believed to live in the volcano. Pele started out as a physical Pele that traveled the islands. She is described as extremely tall with fiery red hair, fair skin, great strength, incredible beauty, veracious sexual appetite and a deadly temper. It is mentioned that Pele's father is the man-eater Ku-waha-ilo who dwells in the far off heavens. Pele traveled the islands of Hawaii digging underground tunnels in an effort to find a spot that she could dig deep caves that did not flood with water so she could make a safe home for her family.
Several days after meeting the man and woman in the SUV, I went back at night. More than anything I wanted to see exactly where the discovery was. This time I took a sugar cane road in from another direction. I four wheeled it in so that I would be on the ridge above the canyon on top of the rock outcropping with the petroglyphs. I was not there very long before headlights came on below me and started working their way to me. I knew I could be gone before they could get to me but I figured I just as well go meet them. It turned out to be a local guy who was hired as security to guard the site. He told me that Yes, two giants were found. A man and a woman, the big one was easily 12 feet. He did not like staying all night in the canyon it gave him the willies. I kept him company for a while and he told me where the cave was. Not that it mattered they covered it completely when they were done. Even now the area where I had driven my truck on the ridge to look into the canyon is a housing development.
Close but no cigar. Now, as interesting as the Hawaiian part of my story is the giant's size is not first-hand and there is no evidence. So, it does not really count as proof of a race of giants.
Giants in Peru
Recently I took a trip to Peru and guess what jumped out at me in some of the museums I visited there? Yes, it was giants. In Peru they are not whisked away like they are in the USA. (It should be noted that there have been hundreds of giant discoveries in the USA that have been either ignored or taken into custody by the Smithsonian never to be seen again.) The Incas actually had kings that were giants and had red and blond hair. In the Gold Museum in Lima you can still see the clothing and head of an Incan king who stood an easy 10 feet tall. His golden robe is 8 feet long and did not touch the ground when he wore it. His gold gloves are twice as long as my hands. His dried and mummified head is easily twice the size of mine and I'm not a little person. There are two giants and their belongings in the Gold Museum in Lima Peru. Everywhere you go in Peru there are giant skulls and skeletons. Many of the skulls are not normal looking either, and they are not all thousands of years old. In most cases we are talking hundreds of years.
I think it is interesting to compare the Peruvian skulls to the Egyptian busts especially when you think they both built massive structures of stone that we can't explain. Does it prove anything? No, just interesting.
Now, before you start yelling about head binding and Indian cradle boards. You should know that head binding and cradle boarding can change the shape of a skull but it cannot change the capacity of a skull. The skulls shown above and to the right have from two to two and a half times the brain capacity of a normal skull. Sort of like an ounce of clay. You can mash it around all you want but it will never be two ounces of clay.
I have tried to keep this within the realm of my own experiences. There is so much more to this. Like the 64 pound sledge hammer found in a 3500 year old copper mine near the town of Llandudno in North Wales. Giant axes unearthed in Iran, Giant swords, etc.You could read for weeks on the subject of giants and if your mind is anything like mine enjoy every minute of it. I would suggest googeling Solomon Island giants, red haired giants, Arizona giants, California giants, Ohio giants, Peruvian giants.
I could go on forever about giants but the fact is Science says that races of giant humans do not exist and never have.
I sure wish they would stop leaving their stuff lying around.

He never needed to be anything but diplomatic. Anyone who might be about to cause trouble would look up and go quietly!

Yeowza! What an super interesting Hub. Fascinating. I did read some where that in Southern Africa there was a cave with a 15ft ceiling that had writing on it with no easy way to get to other than being a 'giant'. If I come accross that source I'll pass it on to you.

Wonderful article! I believe this is another example of the truth of the Bible being verified. However, it's unfortunate that so many people want to cover up the truth -- How about that "modern human" bone found in rock dating back to the time of dinosaurs? That's super fascinating!

It could be that giant remains are a problem for both religion and for science. So they both are more comfortable with it being swept under the historical rug. For science giants mess up the idea of evolution. It also means the history books would be wrong, isolationism and much of what you have been taught is wrong. If they admit that what they have been teaching is wrong, you might start questioning everything you have been told, and the ensuing doubt is a problem for governments who like to maintain control of things.
For religion the time lines of the bible and the remains that have been found, don't fit. Many of the remains are much older than the bible claims the earth is. And the same problems as mentioned above ensue for the church. It would seem that faith will span most of the voids that open from looking at forbidden archeological information so there is less risk for the church. However, if no questions are asked then no problems have to be dealt with.
If reality disagrees with belief, then reality must be wrong.
There is the problem of peer pressure as well. This article is of no great importance but A loved one asked me to consider not publishing it for fear of losing my credibility on other articles I may write related to my business field. Do to their request I have to admit to leaving out of this article some of the most intriguing parts. I did so for reputation and for fear of losing readers by going beyond their belief threshold. Think about this, If it is stressful for me to talk about the few little things I know, in an article written for fun. What must it be like for an archeologist or scientist who has spent their entire life building a career and reputation that could be destroyed by talking about things people will not embrace simply because it does not fit the belief system that has been built for them from childhood? Don't forget what happened when they said the world was round, or that the earth went around the sun. I wonder what amazing things are out there that we will never hear about, what secrets must some men and women carry absolutely alone?

I have been a barber in Nevada for 35 years and I cut many Piaute men's hair.. I have heard the stories about the red haired giants for many years. The older ones told me the giants ate some of their great,great grand parents and the story about going to Lovelock to kill them is absolutley true (according to many of these men)

I understand your families worries and let's face facts...there is an awful lot of covering up going on in every country that governments don't want their subjects, or even the rest of the world to know.
Historical solid proof...should not be hidden away...hopefully the human race will one day become intelligent enough to want the truth...the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

This is a very entertaining article. I don't necessarily agree with the editorial in your comments, but it's cool to let myself believe these remains might be waiting all over the world in unkempt dustbowl roadstops and strange foreign museums. There's a Lovecraftian element to the way this article is written that makes it sound like the journal of an average, curious man before he makes some terrifying discovery and goes totally insane. ;D

Interesting article... I have to wonder though, the term "giant" seems very relative. Afterall, the normal height of a man depends on the general area of his birth, so a man 5'6" could be tall or short depending on the area.
And most of the tribes and places you mention are quite secluded or un-integrated, so you have "controller genes" that are defects continuing through generations.
Extreme tallness is still not the norm )hence the word 'extreme'), just as football players are not "bred" and shuttle astronauts must be shorter than 6'2".
Without intonation and body language it is hard to determine a person’s attitude just by the written word. Read the following hearing me with a friendly tone. It could easily be interpreted as sarcastic and angry, that is not how I feel or think. I appreciate it when anyone shares their thoughts on this. Please hear it as freindly and playful.
Yes, you are correct, it is absolutely relative. If I’m 12 foot tall and everyone I know is around the same height, then we are normal. If I find a 6 foot tall man he would be a pigmy. Now, at 12 foot tall am I a greater giant to a 5 foot pigmy than I am to a 6 foot pigmy, and which one do you trust to decide if I’m a giant or not? Especially when it’s so obvious that I’m not a giant, they are just pigmies. Yup, it’s all relative.
You can call them people of extreme tallness if that makes you feel more comfortable, it makes no difference to me.
Remains of people of extreme tallness have been found worldwide, not just in the few spots that I have mentioned, some in mass graves with hundreds of skeletons. It should be noted that I’m not talking about gigantism as in a deformed human who suffers from a growth disorder. I’m talking about races of people who were well built agile and healthy but of a very large size compared to us.
As far as secluded or un-integrated tribes. The people that I’m talking about are the Polynesians and the American Indians neither were isolated. Pick up the latest national geographic and you will find a great article on how far and wide the Polynesians went in the world.
American Indians knew of Africans, Asians and Caucasians long ago, in Peru you can see ancient sculptures of all of them. There is even a sculpture of a North American Apache Indian wearing an Apache headdress, and a Viking with beard and horned helmet. I have seen them with my own eyes. Old school science hates this sort of thing because of their baby, known as isolationism. I’m not sure what sort of gene defect would produce a 12 foot, red-haired, white skinned, blue eyed man from a 5’6” black-haired, dark skinned, brown eyed man, but anything is possible. Who am I to argue, After all I’m talking about people of extreme tallness.
Excellent info Gary! My son and I have watched a few shows on TV about very large humans, but the focus has been more geared toward a rare disorder that I believe they called giantism.

This is so interesting. I just read another article (I believe it was a hub) about a race before humans that had bigger heads, and were probably more intelligent.
This was a fascinating hub especially in light of the fact that I learned of similar findings recently in the islands of Palau. My dad who is an architect there was surveying land when he came upon burial ground. They had people come out to investigate before they went any further and they found the remains of a huge woman whose femur was around 4 feet (don't quote me but it was close to that). They ended up halting any further work on the land and had people come in to investigate further. Dad said there were also old stories that he was told growing up of captains who sailed by Palau and wanted to land on the islands; however because of the size of the inhabitants of Palau, the foreign sailors were afraid to dock. Dad was told that it would have taken ten normal men to contend with one of the giants on our island.

Hi The other day me and my friend also discuss giants. Why there aren't any now? Why there is so much sicknesses in the world we never ever heard off. Our forefathers did eat rich fatty meals and they did become real old. So we come to the conclusion that years ago the cattle and herds hasn't been feed with un natural feed sources like they do today. So the human race must check on this problem not only do they destroy the world they destroy themselves.

Nice Hub, I asked some of the old people about these so called 'red haired giants'. I dont know what was more surprising, your hub or the fact one of our respected elders not only had a name for them but could tell me prominent ancestors who migrated hundreds of years ago to this land through the polynesian islands who were fair, had red hair and were so called giants!?!? I was gobsmacked! He was talking as if it were common knowledge!
Awesome, I think my geneology will unearth more secrets then I ever thought. With new light, the stories of old seem to make sense! My people are from New Zealand! Will definately be researching this more in the near future!
phaesill, supposedly, there is a race of humans in NZ that is not related to the rest of mankind - could this be it, the giants? Or, are there additional people with differences in NZ history? The Smithsonian reported on the non-related NZ humans in 2005 and then the material disappeared from the Internet.
Garry - I heard stories of the red-haired giants when I was a child, but I cannot remember from whom.
Garry, when i was a kid, my mother always told me a lot of giant stories and the most famous of them was Goliath...i can hardly believe what she was telling me about giant people. But as i read your article i start to believe as i look at those pictures.

What a well thought out an informing page you have put together. I have been studying the giants.
I think I saw in an earlier post, someone mentioning the Genesis Account of the "giants" who were produced from the Fallen Angels and Daughters of Men. These were the Nephilim.
Additionally, in the Book of Enoch, Enoch is taken into Heaven and shown how God will send the Flood to wipe out the destruction that is being caused by the Nephilim on earth. Enoch, was Noah's great grandfather.
Also, the account of David and Goliath, is another Biblical story, where after the deluge, a giant has written account.
The children of Anak, or Annakims are said to have been very large.
The original 'account of creation' in the english version of the bible was said to be understood that each day, something was created. Although, in hebrew, the actual word for day, means something like "in this time".

Gary, I am Paiute and have heard of these giants. I'm from Oregon near the Nevada border and have heard of the Paiutes in Nevada talk of these red-head giants. I heard where these giants lived in caves and did eat some of the Natives. I read an article about them that was published in early 1920's in Humboldt county newspaper. I don't remember the name they gave them, but if you ask a tribal elder in Ft. McDermitt you'll find out. You're right about the remains that were discovered in the caves around Lovelock, the skulls were large and had red hair. In fact, it was also noted that these were not only giants but covered almost completely with red hair (dare I say bigfoot-type animal). It was said they lived completely isolated from the Indians, however, there were also stories of Indians being taken in the middle of the night by these giants and forced to live among them. I had also heard of them being eaten by them as well. It'd be a good idea to look in the archives of newspaper articles in the area to get more info. One of the article was sent to our tribal newsletter from one of our members a few years back, I'll have my sister attain a copy and send it to you!

This is amazing!! It makes me think about the book "Kon-Tiki" by Thor Heyerdahl, a man who set out to prove that it was possible that the Pacific Islands were inhabited from South America and not from Asia. He talks of Kon-Tiki, the son of the Sun, with red hair and light skin, who sailed from Peru to various islands, including Easter Island and the Hawaiian Islands. He brought up the fact that some island communities have people with naturally reddish hair and lighter features.
Great Hub. Very fascinating. Have read many a book where they mention the existance of giants throughout history. They are even mentioned in the Bible and other ancient texts. If I'm not mistaken, there are actually drawings that have been found depicting giants. Keep it coming! Thanks.
It chimes with my own experience of seeing a skeleton on a local museum say, a decade ago, of a giant nearly 8ft tall. The strange thing about this guy was he had a ridge going down the centre of his skull of about an inch of solid bone. It looked for all the world as if his head was shaped like an axe. I always wondered what happened to his race or if he was a once-off.
He was about a thousand years old and if memory serves, a Viking. I guess giants were more common then.
Wow, that is a new one on me. I have heard that some of them have double rows of teeth top and bottom as well as six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot with no deformity. Even some found in the USA with horns, but I have never heard of a boney ridge. Where did you see this at?

I'm sure if you are actively into researching about giants then you already know many of the controversies and stories about them. Are you aware of the greatly debated conspiracy theory that our american government currently houses and protects entire races of giants that still exist, or otherwise known as "Nephilim"? If you are into the bible and religion or even a skeptical person by nature I'll leave you with this tid bit that'll get your mind going. Research and look into this you'll find it's true. Tell me why every naturally occuring cave or tunnel system that goes beyond the depths of 3 miles into the earth's crust is "classified".
This also opens up a new can of worms with the whackados that believe in reptilian species of aliens that are living beneath our terrain as well. But you will find some evidence and proof of a giant race burried in these little conspiracy theories if you do some digging into our governmentally protected caverns and cave systems. The giants living there are believed by religious types to be the offspring descendants of the sons of God and Daughters of man which were "Nephilim".
I should note that these "giants" are not the type that are usually covered in news stories in which their pituitory gland has a tumor on it which stimulates them to never stop "growing". These giants are the bonefide David and Goliath Nephilim offspring of angels and mankind... if you believe in that sort of thing

Thank you for taking the time to write such a long comment. Yes, I know about the Nephilim. I worked with a team for five years that was searching for the Lost City of Atlantis. They believed that Atlantis was built by the Nephilim and had some really interesting items in their possession that made my head spin. They had been on the project for over 20 some years before I came on board, and like the Sumerian texts of the bible they believed that the Nephilim were extraterrestrial. They published a book called Atlantis Motherland. It is a lot to give the average person though. They will discount it fast and declare you as nuts. It is hard enough just talking about races of giants without adding space ships. Look at the poor reception that Indiana Jones just received and they presented that as absolute fiction.
I did not know that there is a suspected government cover up of living giants. The only living giant info I had was the Solomon Islands cave systems. So, thanks for that. I will check into it further.

Yes, I have studied the Norse Gods and the giants that they dealt with. I tend to feel that maybe it is an adaptation or even an aside to the Nephilim and their descendants stories that the Sumerian texts of the bible talk about.

Hi Gerry, thank you for pointing me to this wonderfully rich hub about human giants. I feel quite comfortable in 'modern human giants' company. My wish to be a tall man (around 6.4) hasn't been fulfilled, though. From my personal experience I need to say, that they are very nice people, who are very committed to their work and very loyal to their friends, as well (only my personal HR experiences in my own company).
I absolutely agree, that there were very many different human species throughout the history of life on earth. From the largest giants to the tiniest ones. It seems, that these days we are the only 'human species', which have managed to survive the natural selection.
I think it fascinating - Giants! and many are about the earth today. Hope to meet one or more. Reminds me of the Lord of the Rings trolls.
Giantism is not unfamiliar in other species both mammilian and reptilian. Many giant species of mammals have lived and become extinct. An explaination was put forth in a recent show on giant dinosaurs. That was food was so plentiful and easy to obtain, that more of the caloric intake could be put to growing large (I suppose over generations rather than just getting fat) rather than being expended in the pursuit of more food. We see this in one or two generations of immigrants to the US where the kids are already several inchs taller on average than their parents, due I would guess to the better diet and more plentiful supply.
What might this say about the origin of giants if they were indeed cannibalistic?
Fantastic! The best hub I've read so far. It makes me wonder whether these people still exist in isolated pockets, although such areas are becoming rarer and rarer, or whether they reached an accomodation with other native species, and gradually bred out. I live in the UK, and many of my family are tall, red-haired, or blonde. I always assumed that we had a big whack of viking heritage somewhere in our gene pool, but who knows!
This is truly amazing. And its so odd that i discover all this at a time where I'm questioning everything around me. My friend mentioned the giant humans to me once a few days ago and i decided to do some research. She told me about the giant femur and here i stand, shocked at what I'm seeing. Because of this hub my suspicions on history are clarified. That nothing really ever is at its made out to be. How come the media shuns these discoveries? They would totally debunk the basis for evolution (which I've always considered man-made b.s.) But I do believe in natural selection, which is what sprung modern day humans. Come to think of it, most animals back in the day were giants. Saber-toothed tigers? Mammoths? Dinosaurs? All giants. And giant bugs i'm sure. So who's to say the same didn't go for humans?

I would suggest researching more about Solomon Giants. There's no fire but there's smoke I think. Interesting if you read about the WWII memorial and the strange statue. Could anyone who lives there take a photo of it already?

Years ago, there was a highway construion job in Alask, in which some human remains were found. The Skulls were 24 inchs across. But those Humans remains were disposed of by those who did not want this discovery to be made known. The point here is, that the gaints were here and they did truely walk upon the face of this world !
Garry, I called the Humboldt museum to see if I could stop by for a visit and view this giant jawbone. This older lady (Mrs. Larson) answered the phone. She's lived in Winnemucca all her life and she oversees the museum. She says she has no awarenss of there ever having been this display, nor does the museum have any jawbone which dwarfs a human jaw (such as in your photo). Do you have any info about this? What's your take?

I'm from South Australia, and I would like to say, that both Colonial and Aboriginal lore talk about giants of various kinds. Aboriginal legend talks about the race of hairy giants who they waged war with during ancient times. Apparently, there was a giant, hairy man that was brought back to England by colonists from Botany Bay, he was much like a Negro, except very hairy and very big.
Also, I've done some online research, trying to filtre out the less likely, purely mythical claims. Yes, Mainstream Science and Mainstream Religion have alot to lose when races of Giants are indeed verified. But Skeptics and Conspiracy Theorists aside, I believe, wholehaertedly that Giants existed in the past, at the very least. Any medical anomalies and disorders, or plain luck that occur give us a modern, shocking glimpse into just what is really posible in the human body.
My main idea is that, if there is a Myth about something, it had to start somewhere. The ever-elusive 'grain of truth', which I'm happy to say is more apparent these days. All too often, true natural occurences are often fobbed off by science as 'freaks', or as mere footnotes of little importance.
The Fossil record has surprising consistency with this. A type of Hominid called "Meganthropus" or Homo erectus paleojavanicus (google those), is known from skullcaps and other fragments, indicating the largest ancient human. Russian Georgia also has a fossil jaw that very well may be the largest early human on record. The size is hard to estimate, but they definately were taller or more robust than us at the least.
Bigfoot and the Yeti, are noteworthy, as they are reported as 9 and 10 feet tall. Though a hairy man may be different from a giant man.
I'd like to say that this hub is a Godsend, an actual firsthand account of good research regarding giants, as opposed to hard-to-reference souces that the internet seems to be full of. This hub is fun-on-a-bun.

Right on, Tim Morris! I just wish that somewhere and somehow I could lay my own eyes on any kind of "giant" bones or remains. I know they're out there somewhere. In fact, I telephoned the Nevada State Historical Society in reference to this report about Paiute natives...and the curator confessed (grudgingly) that they do indeed have "giant" bones in storage, but that...ahem....they are not allowed out to the public because of possible lawsuits from native Americans.
I thought that was an extraordinary concession from a museum curator...and also a very strange excuse about keeping these under lock and key. As Ivan Sanderson once said--"Is it that these people are so afraifd of re-writing all the textbooks?" I think the real reasons are considerably less savory.
Anyway, I have to believe somebody has artifacts in their private collection. I may yet travel to Nevada in a quest!
There have been enough very large skeletons found, encluding those in Turkey in the 1950's to verify that there were giants living some time ago.These are all human, not some lower kind of a living being. It's strange why they are so hard to find in museums, especially in the united states. Yet on the other hand, a "doctored up" ape skull shows up here and there, along with some drawings, to try to make it look like humans developed from something other than a man and woman.
Great hub!! I have always been intrigued with the Anasazi of the Southwest. Their rock art has some very interesting figures though in this case I do not think giants but something different none the less. I do believe there is a lot more to learn about the history of our planet.
Ever heard of canopy theoy? I think ancient humans were alot larger than they are today and lived longer. I have been also very interested in the Bible and its hidden secrets. Of course, you might have heard of the apocrypha books, that were removed from the Bible because they were too confusing. Well, if you start by reading Genesis, the confusion starts here: if Adam and Ever were the only people on Earth, whom did Cain marry again??? The Bible states that outside the Paradise, there were already other people populating the Earth, and that they were giants. If you want to read up more on the giants, then just look up the book of Enoch. That is a fascinating surreal book, straight out of the bible. Most of the ancient cultures also relate the existence of giants. There have been lots of sites where giants have been dug up. But on top of that, and this is what is really interesting, Hitler and his men tried doing genetic experiments using prisoners and "pure blooded" men and women. His idea of the Superior Species was actually an attempt at recreating giants. I know I saw this really well explained in an amateur site. But the information it contained I looked it up elsewhere, and it all adds up. As soon as I find it again, I will post it if it's ok with you.

I think the "proof" is pretty poor. If we accept that kind of proof, then we also have to accept that bigfoot, sasquatch (if that's how you write it), the yeti, alien abductions, loch ness and britney spears are real.
some years ago, i stumbled upon the Cardiff Giant in a museum up north somewhere, maybe upstate new york. my kids could not understand my delight in actually seeing the famous stone giant, one of the famous hoaxes of the late 19 century
Muchas I did enjoy reading this and appreciate the obvious work and passion that went into it I still have to make the observation that you have not been able to produce anything like real proof. The "giant jaw, and the modern human jaw appear very different in size until you realize that the modern human jaw is only a cast of the actual tooth area and is sitting lower on the table. When you allow for that they turn out to be pretty much the same size. The picture of the "giant" leg bone, once you read the caption is not an actual one or fossile. It's an artist's representation of what he thinks a leg that big would look like after hearign that one that size was once found. I thought you did a very good job on this, (loved the first picture,where the heck did you come across it?) and there is no denying that it's food for thought. All the same, without anything like serious evidence to back up these claims I'm afraid that giants will have to remain the stuff of fantasy.
Actually, I have plenty of evidence. The giant remains in the Peruvian Museums are more than enough, and anyone can go see them first hand, as I did. I have also contacted the gentleman who photographed the giant jaw and he is providing me with all of his photographs, including the entire story and photographs of the complete skull and jaw, and his correspondence with the museum curator of the time. He says that the molars of the giant jaw are a minimum of three times larger than the molars of the dental cast. Which looks about right, even if you consider that the casting may be sitting an inch or so lower. Compare the size of the teeth. I also know exactly where the skull is stored. Though I’m afraid that people contacting the museum because of this article has actually hurt my efforts in getting to take my own photographs and measurements. (This is part of the reason that my new discoveries are not posted yet.) On another note, since writing this article many interesting people have come forward and contacted me because of what was written here? (giants@projectfreedom.us)I have far more evidence now than what was written about in this article and it is concrete, and I didn’t give everything the first time for fear of ridicule.

I do realize that you could whack some people upside the head with a giant human femur and they still would not believe in giants, and that is fine. I do this for me.
You can always downplay anything and many people derive tremendous pleasure in doing so. Trust me, that is a lot easier than trying to do what I’m doing.

What a fabulous article. I have been interested in giants, to a degree, since I come from a family that has many extremely tall members. I have a cousin that is 7'4" and his father was 7'2". My own father was almost 6'3". Many of the men in my family are over 6'2". So are a couple of my female relatives. I am only 5'8", but my daughter is 5'9" and her father is almost 6'5". Only after reading your article, it dawned on me, that both my fathers family and my daughter's father's family are of red headed stock. Very interesting!! I am going to find out more about this and hopefully, maybe I can find something that could possibly help prove that giants were a race of people and not just freaks of human nature. Garry-I am greatly anticipating your next chunk of information. One question of clarification: I am assuming this gigantic jawbone is no longer on public deisplay. Or is it? I live in California and I would definitely make the trip to Nevada at some point, in order to see something like this.
Actually Fun Guy, I don't believe they have ever been on display. The museums have them, but they are not for the public to see. The jaw bone that is in the photograph is from a complete skull but they are both kept locked up in a cabinet in the back. Even if you were allowed to wander around behind the scenes you would not see it, and I'm afraid that this article has caused quite a few people to hound the museum about the skull, hurting my chances of getting to examine it. I'm holding back the new information I have until I have exhausted what I can get from the research before presenting it to the public.
I'm writing a book on this. I'm trying to take video when I can as well, just in case enough is gathered for a documentary. The documentary is a big maybe but the book is very likely and already under way. As with everything it is always about funding and not many philanthropists are stepping up to give money to giant hunters. Not that I would know where to find a philanthropist anyway. So, I’m bootstrapping it. As you might guess there is a lot of travel involved as I don’t want to do only document research I want to be on site.

Well, I can admit to one short 5-minute phone call to a "historical society"...but I hadn't perceived myself as part a pack of 'hounding' pranksters. :-) I simply wanted to take my home-schooled son up to Nevada with the hope of viewing some actual artifacts or remains. The curator I spoke with ever so briefly didn't seem nervous or stressed. Our conversation was pleasant. She did grudgingly (as I would describe it) acknowledge having the remains of giant humanoids in their 'vaults'. I thought that was an extraordinary concession. I can reveal the exact museum (though you probably already know it) if you wish.
You say you're looking for any added info about "giant" remains/artifacts: I went to the trouble of networking my way (by phone) into the Lovelock community...speaking with a number of regular citizens. I had a 'contact' in Lovelock that opened that door--folks who were around Lovelock in the 70s. when the Horseshoe Cave was explored by a "Mr. Loud". One local guy told me that one of the people who supposedly had some artifacts in his private possession had his house burned down. Rather "unfortunate". There seems to be a lot of those kinds of misfortunes in relation to this subject matter. I couldn't locate anyone else who had an artifact or remains in their private possession.

Yes, I heard about the fire of the private collection. You are quite right about the misfortunes and not just in Nevada. The remains of the giants back at the time of removal from the cave were stored in a shed that promptly burned down destroying all the mummies. The skull that my article shows the jaw from was actually found years later outside the cave, after heavy wind had move the dirt around exposing it. Fortunately the giants artifacts that were found in the cave were not burned, including the huge stone disk with 365 markings on it.
Hello,my name is Septimius and i'm from Romania.I read your article and i want to say that giant skeletons have beed found in my country in a few places along the Carpathian mountains, around the middle of the 20th century.The skeletons were between 2.5-4 meters tall.However whitneses tell that almost all the skeletons were taken by the authoryties and nobody heard anything since. We also have legends about giants in the folklore,we name them "jidovi" who lived in the mountains and wheren't very friendly.Also my father told me that when he was in the army in 1976 he had a coleague who came from Retezat Mountains (part of southern carpathians),and he was 2.20m tall and very muscular and strong.He presented no diformities neither of his face or his body,(i'm a medic and from my father description i conclude that his former coleague was genetically giant,he had no pituitary problems).He could lift alone an ammuniton crate on one shoulder with no problems,and that crate could be only lifted by 6 men.After a month he was recruted by the special forces,and nobody heard from him again.

It's important for people to understand that these were not just freakishly tall individuals with endocrine dissorder, but were entire ethnic groups of very tall people. AKA a race of giants.
As to the size of the skull at the Humboldt museum, Readers digest mysteries of the unexplained p 41. describes it as about 12" tall with an 8 1/4 inch mandible.
Most people have jaws that are something like 5 to 6 inches wide, between TMJs. 8 and 1/4 is what anthropologists would classify as "robust" -- because the term "gigantic" would flutter the feathers of any university.
So if you put flesh and hair on this skull, you'd have a 13+ inch tall head with 9 1/2" wide cheeks, and multiply this by a ratio of 8, you have an 9 foot tall man.

I would like to point out that there is evidence that the nephilim are from somewhere else, if you except the bible you will find that the Israelites had to battle the nephilim for the land of milk and honey. You most likely heard of the Tall Red headed and blond headed man and woman found here in Utah. It is incredible the amount of proof that is out there but nobody listens! Why hide this fantastic information from the public? It should be out there for all of us to see and to study!
As late as 1955, Nevada Newspapers were still reporting these giant Red-headed mummies and skeletons, but by 1976 the State Archaeologists essentially declared the entire idea as non-sense. Somewhere between 1955 and 1976, a genuine cover-up occurred -- any possibility of them being tall people was considered hog wash. Some of these extra large bones were declared "cow bones" and written off entirely by archaeologists.
But what was published in the 1952 Nevada State Journal cannot be so easily covered-up:

One is over 15 inches long, substantiating the myths handed down in the Piute tribe that these people were "giants." A jaw-bone, twice the size of modern man's, and skeletons recovered measured six feef to nine feet, give definite con-firmation of the "giant" stories."

Oh, just so readers are up to date. A 15 1/2 inch sandal would roughly equal a size 21 US men's shoe (39 cm). I believe this artifact is at the museum in Carson city, Nevada. Even with the absence of skeletons, the very "slippers" these people wore should make one scratch their head. Do you know about a guy named Steve Quayle who has done research on giants? These things no doubt existed and surely would have some remain in remote places. These giants have a supernatural origin and are not friendly to people. They are very strong beyond belief probably. I believe they had six toes and six fingers. And they had two rows of teeth. It is rumored that one giant was killed in Afghanistan by US soldiers. It was estimated to be about 12 feet tall and weighed 1100 pounds.

Garry, excellent work! Some people would find it quite hard to believe, but I am confident that they have existed. If we can have giant Mammoths and the likes of Sabertooth tigers, I just don't see why gaint humans could not exist. Giants are explained in biblical texts. It even explains this in the Quran and the people of AAD, which were a race of ginats. My common sense belief is that its kind of logical for giants to exist. If you reflect on monuments the kind of likes of stonehenge and pyramids, kind of gives it away. Good job Garry, keep up the good work.

There's a little book that was written in 1601 called "Travels of Noah into Europe". It says in it that Noah was a giant and, as everyone already knows, the Titans were giants. Turns out, if this book is to be believed, they were sons of Noah. I don't believe being large makes a man nephilim in the angelic sense. I believe we'll find that they existed before the flood and were wiped out in the flood. They also existed after the flood. It's genetics. indeed. to 2 above me. the sphinx in egypt was not built by "pharoahs". the head is less wethered than the body, even though the body was buried in sand and not exposed to as much elements. the present head could have been carved from the original to resemble the ruling pharoh. the pyramids/sphinx are positioned so they correlate to the orion constellation. they could have been built around the time(here it gets technical and i dont quite completely understand, but something to the effect) that orion was in the sky called the astrological age, ~10-15 thousand years ago. and it was the time of the constellation Leo the lion. so the original head of the sphinx could be a lion. build during that period, way before "ancient egyptians".

I am a Walker River Paiute from Nevada; I grew up hearing the stories of Red Haired Giants. Also the Paiutes from Schurz Nevada supposedly attacked and killed the Giants that lived in an area called the cliffs near Hawthorne Nevada. As a boy I went to Virginia City Nevada where they had a Giant on display in a glass case. I probably looked at the remains about 10 times over a 20 yr period. They said it came from Lovelock. NV. About 15 or so years ago I went back to Virginia City for another look, and the owner said the remains were taken away to be studied. I went to Virginia City a couple of weeks ago and every body I asked about it treated me like I was a fool.

i find this utterly fascinating. i had read that somewhere in the grand canyon there had been found a cave that contained a bunch of Egyption stuff and many MANY statues of around 12 foot warrior types. from what i read, the gov came in, cleaned it out completely & either sealed it or blew it up to make sure no one else found it.

The thing that concerns me is the return of the Nephilim giants. These giants were said to stand anything up to 30 feet in height and possessed the strength of a hundred men. They also ate humans.
In some Biblical texts it is said that the Nephilim will return and I have heard a story that these giants will come through star gates in the middle east and this is why the coalition forces are stationed there to fight it out with these alien mutated giants. In one story I heard that in Afghanistan eight American soldiers were eaten by one of these giants in the mountain caves before the giant was killed and its dead body transported to a military base somewhere.
In another source I read that IF these things return they will come in the excess of 100 million of them. Do we stand a chance against an army of giants possessing supernatural strength and powers?
Perhaps this is when Jesus returns to destroy the giants in the name of GOD similar to when GOD sent the flood to destroy these giants thousands of years ago as stated in the holy bible.

This is a great article. Something I've been studying for years now. Seems more and more information is coming to the surface... I've always been astonished that a 'true' scientist or historian would not be extremely excited about such finds and want the public to see them and know how they were found and where. This is the oddist thing to me. So of course, all I can gather from this is the need to hide and get rid of such finds from the public, is the need to 'not verify'the truths of the God of the Bible. Someone or some group is really terrified of these hard, cold facts becoming visible to the world. We also know that we are not fighting people, but powers and principalities of the air. May I just suggest the book 'Devils and Demons and the Return of the Nephilim'and the book 'Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocolypse'. The first book touches on the original Hebrew translation of the Bible and how the Greek really leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to understanding the layers of information in scripture. I think your talking about Remote viewing, although what we know about it is predominantly a "real time" ability, there is no reason that it couldn't cross the time/space barrier. Remote viewing has been used by the Army and the CIA and from what I gather it's a proven valid thing, although few in the "scientific" community would acknowledge it. Do a google search on Joe McMoneagle, he's one of the top RV people if your interested in learning more about Remote Viewing.

Hi, thanks for the info, I really enjoyed it, I just want to add, I've been in places like Petra, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon,Etiophia, etc. and I foun many interesting places where, the only logic explanation to those marvellous buildings with huge columns and ceilings or humongus caves and stones must be built by GIANTS, imagine 100 construction workers to lift a 1 ton stone, now imagine 10 Giants could do the same without tools.

I am a devout Christian, and am amazed by people being intimidated by archaeological findings. The status quo is easily intimidated (hey, the status quo killed Copernicus when he tried to convince them that the earth was round...!) To protect their sense of control, they then offer their opinions as "God's" and feed them as "facts from the Bible" -- I even saw you commenting about the Bible "said" about some of this, whereas the first time ever i read about the Nephilim was in Genesis, in the Bible!
There was a time on earth (I like to call it pre-history) that things happened that we can only guess about (archaeology offers limited and gradual information, creating fear in timid minds). The Bible actually explains that the earth had "become" a rough place to inhabit, when God intervened. I believe some (previous?) beings messed up, and He had to intervene to save the human race. I found the article written by Garry Nelson informative and relaxing to read compared to most of what I find on the internet. Like weeding my way through a hay stack to find needles or worse. I would very much like to see a good prediction of some of the size of these Giants size and possibly other stuff such as genetic analysis and body make up if possible.
I saw some confusion earlier about how Giants may have survived the flood. Lot of speculation on this I understand. As a Christian and having read the Bible I often wondered the same thing. While looking into the nature of where the Nephilim came from I "hypothesized" that they seem to originate from fallen angels which I gleaned from the Book of Enoch. These would be extra dimensional beings in nature. Able to exist outside of our reality.
Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
I began to realize "if that were possible" that as you choose to manifest in our reality not only can they look like but maybe even be genetically compatible with us by choosing their genetic structure. If they could manifest to be genetically compatible that would give them the tools to mate with early mankind and genetically engineer Giants. Of course this is exactly what the book of Enoch seems to suggest.
So to answer you question how would they come back after the flood. One hypothesis is that more angels came to start it back up again. But why? Good question. One possible explanation is that in the Garden of Eden God tells the snake (what ever that is) that the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent. So maybe the serpent urged his angels to come to earth and change the seed of mankind so that it wouldn't happen. But God wiped them out. Then they try again and God seems to stop the Giants yet again. Then Jesus came. I suspect Jesus to be the prophesied seed of the woman whom God foretold would crush the head of the serpent but that the serpent bit him in the heel. Jesus on the cross.
Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
But that's just one of my hypothesis on it and kinda hard to prove. Good hunting Garry I am glad you are doing what you enjoy.
And again I am not even sure the Bible holds all the books it once had on giants. The story is probably largely incomplete. I believe there was even a book of Giants but Is largely incomplete. That and outside of the Bible there are many stories also confirming Giants. Most exciting is that these stories are really recent. I mean before US Europeans came over. I hope to see more on this. Here is to the truth for it go forward and be known in all its aspects.

Look at a Darwinist cartoon of a little fish coming out of the ocean, turning into a land creature, then a mammal, then an apelike thing, then a man. Notice that the size progression is always upward. It goes very simply from small to large.
A progression from large to small doesn't fit this pattern.
Also, the Bible says "There were giants in the Earth in those days" and Darwinists fear giving any ammunition to their opponents.
(Of course there's no reason evolution couldn't have gone from small to huge to our size, or small to huge to extinct while we branched off as a different line, but propaganda has to be simple.)

back in 2003 I was asked by an Member of TAS. to look into a story floating around about a Seven foot tall female skeleton reported in a story to see if I could find anything to show if it was an internet hoax, or true. the story on the net quoted a newspaper article, but not the actualy paper. long story short. I located the actualy article then after a few months located the skeleton. which had been found in a cave on Panther Creek in Texas. By Rhodes scholar Bud Adams. his family after his death had removed the skeleton and other artifacts from teh local museum after a Creationist museum had claimed Mr. Adams had verified some rather dubious finds. he had done no such thing. but the family was tired of the whole thing and wanted it dropped.
the problem being, is that these giant skeletons have been reportedly found around the country. from Ohio to Florida, Georgia to Cali. but are no longer avialable for study for one reason or another.
all of the Credible finds place the skeletons between Seven and eight feet tall. when hair is still available its blond to red normally. and almost all of them have been found to suffer from a rare genetic disorder that results in double rows of teeth.

all in all. to prove this one way or another will take years of hunting down multiple skeletal remains, and have them dated and studied. otherwise, the few that are known will be considered anomalous remains most likely resulting from diet or genetic disorders.

I've had the theory that a number of men from the Three Kingdoms period of China were Giants, like Guan Yu, Dian Wei, and Zhang Fei. Even still though it is all speculation as the sources are probably dramatized.

I had a friend that was over 7...he would never say how tall he really was. He looked like the Jaws guy in Gold Finger. He use to piss people off by claping his hands. It was so loud it hurt your ears! I do not understand the giant cover up. Someday someone with real money will start a real search into this subject.

This is awesome. This 'giant' issue is not a problem for all students of scripture or for all scientists. The Bible mentions the Nephilim and it's widely agreed by many God-believing and many scientists that these are the giants you are finding out about.
It is unfortunate that some who had religious and political power in our history, have managed to ban, out-law, remove and hide certain portions of the judeo-christian scripture. There are some, like myself, who are putting the missing pieces back together. It is pretty obvious that God did know what he was talking about. The truth cannot be kept in the dark forever.

I was raised in a christian school, so we were taught creation instead of evolution. During the quarter we studied creation we had a guest speaker come in. He told us different theories about the age of dinosaurs and such. Regarding your article though, he had showed us pictures of human giants skeletons that early evolutionist had tried to hide from the public.

Being of Norwegian descent, I was first convinced here was more proof of my ancestors who left abundant and seldom recognised artifacts proving they were here long before we thought. I read this article because I was doing some research of my own. I find it hard to believe people would hide such important things like this! I'm only 15 and I take great interest in history like this. You had a great blog...erm article on Giants and I plan to continue my search on knowledge for this types of things. Thank you for sharing.
I am 6'4", my youngest is 6'6", my great grandfather on my fathers mothers side was reportedly 6' 8" or 9" tall. We also have a family friend who is 7'3". Then there was a guy at a grocery store that was 6'9". There are tall people out there even now, some bordering on nearlt 8' tall so hearing a story or seeing artifacts that show people being 10" to 12" tall are completly believable.

I was watching Ancient Aliens as well, and although most of it was speculation and huge leaps I was fascinated by the fact that giant skeletons have been found all over so I did a google search as well and was so disappointed to find that almost every site that has a list of times and places they were found also mentions that either the skeletons themselves were taken to some museum (that doesn't have any display of them) or they were stolen by keepsake hunters and a few cases the finds were reburried (that was noted in a paper from East NY near Buffalo where a mass grave was found on a farm but the farmer opted to cover them back up to prevent further thefts and to be left alone.
I was telling my mother all this and she told me her great grandmother and her twin brothers were all redheads and very tall (over 6 feet). I know 6 feet isn't much in comparison to the skeletons found, but for people that were born around 1865 that's pretty darn tall.
I just don't understand why the remains are not being studied and/or are on display in any museum that has them.

We have learned the secrets of the atom, and we are beginning to explore the concepts of quantum superposition and quantum entanglement for data encryption and teleportation which will usher in a new era of telecommunications. We are entering a new era where surgery will seem barbaric in the context of Regenerative Medicine. Yes, we have begun to probe the secrets of the universe, of the very nature of matter and reality.
Wait a minute....indeed we have come far....in less than 10,000 yrs of recorded history. How is that possible in the face of 4.5 million years of relatively nothing. Even arguing the exponential multiplication of technological advancement, it is implausible that we accomplished all this in less than 10,000 yrs independently. Indeed, the truth is that Evolution is accurate....up until 450,000 yrs ago...before the Great Intervention (yes, I coined that....lol...the christians will crucify me..) Oddly enough, the Religious masses are also right...there is no conflict between creationism and Evolution...We were evolving, then we had a interruption and acceleration of that process via GENETIC ENGINEERING...there is no missing link...we were indeed "created". However, our creators were not "GOD" or "Gods"....just beings who possessed technology and knowledge that was far beyond the ability of our ancestors to understand. They tried to describe the events they witnessed in the context of what was familiar to them, lacking any true understanding of the nature of these events. Today we dismiss their observations as mythology, and every effort is made to suppress the truth or dismiss the evidence that supports it. Wake up people...times have not changed. For those hard line bible bearers, check out the Council of Nicea...specific books congruent the the religious and political philosophy were selected to be part of the biblical cannon of the catholic church...Hmmmm....this sure sounds like censorship to me. Are the Book of Enoch (please read this) or the Book of Mary any less valid or relevant? Well, we have the same thing going on today...a concerted censorship to prevent people from learning the truth.
Simply, if all the above is true then the very foundations of religious cannons would need to be rewritten. Indeed, our accounts of anthropology, mythology, and theology would all need to be revamped. Religious is, and has always been a tool for socio-political and economic control. This means that the very foundations of politics would be threatened. Remember....knowledge was the original sin...(some will argue it was disobeying "GOD"). The truth is indeed there for those enlightened enough embrace it and intellectually evolved enough to appreciate it.
Finally, it is only the utmost arrogance that allows humans to believe that we are the only forms of sentient life in this universe. Consider the vast biodiverstiy existing on this planet now, existing in extremes of environments. Yet in their entirety they represent a mere 1% of all lifeforms that have ever existed on this planet. Do you still believe that we are alone?

No...I am not basing my theory on the blible...however, the bible does ironically corroborate the ancient accounts. These sources span everything form mythos to religious doctrines and much of the objective albeit ignored evidence. An interesting place to start for all of you who are new to this would be the ANCIENT ALIENS series on History channel. Then, start doing your own independent verification.
One note of clarification...when Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, it is not quite that literal. It is an expression intended to convey the idea of the knowledge of everything. It is similar to how we use the expression "search high and low" to convey the idea of searching everywhere.

As for Cain's wife, the dead-letter reading of the Bible can only lead to misunderstanding. The stories are not to be understood without the several keys, also revealed in the SECRET DOCTRINE.
As a hobby, I have researched giants, as well as hidden archaelogy, for alot of years- its always fascinated me. I have also been a practicing Christian during that time.
I keep reading here that religion plays a large part in keeping knowledge of giants in the dark. In the many conversations I've had with other Christians (and non-Christians), I have yet to find anyone who objects to the possibility of "giants" having existed, since most Christians are familiar with the giant Goliath of the Bible, and even the reference in the book of Genesis, "Now there were giants in the Earth in those days.."
So when I read that it is because of religious reasons that evidence has been destroyed, or that knowledge of giants existing flies in the face of religious understanding, I get confused- unless we're talking about something other than Western religious understanding, which I don't think is whats happening here.
It seems like more of a social-political thing to me, rather than religious. Now if you wanna say religion plays a part in cover ups like UFO's, life elsewhere, or the like, I can see that religion would play a part in that kind of cover-up.

I am not a scholar by any means, nor a "Bible thumping pundit"(which is curious language from a medical Doctor). However, you say that "the Bible clearly states that Cain went out into the world and took a wife..."
Well, that must be what he did, he took a wife- along with him- when he left.
Who was she Cain's wife? Actually, the Bible never tells us that Cain’s wife came from Nod. It says that he “went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod” (Genesis 4:16).
It was in this land that “Cain knew his wife” (4:17).
To explain where his wife came from, the Bible states before this:
“And in the course of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering to the Lord.” -Genesis 4:3
Note the phrase “in the course of time.” It says that Seth, Adam's 3rd son, was born when Adam was 130 years old (Genesis 5:3), and Eve saw him as a “replacement” for Abel (Genesis 4:25). Therefore, the period from Cain's birth to Abel's death may have been 100 years or more— allowing plenty of time for other children of Adam and Eve to marry and have children and grandchildren. By the time Abel was killed, there could well have been a considerable number of descendants of Adam and Eve, involving several generations.
The text simply says that Cain “dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden. It also states:
And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch” (Genesis 4:16-17).
To conclude that Cain took a wife from a large group of people living in the world is faulty reasoning and speculation.
As a doctor, I'm sure you know today that we cannot marry siblings because of the high risk of deformities. Unfortunately, genes today contain many mistakes. If we are to believe scripture, Adam and Eve did not have accumulated genetic mistakes. Adam and Eve were physically perfect, so their genes were perfect. In that situation, brother and sister could have married, without any potential to produce deformed offspring. And Cain could have already been married before killing Abel.
I don't mean to get into a religious argument, and I am not trying to challenge the history of humanity that you've laid out. I'm just responding to the the question you pose about Cain , with an answer that clarifies the Bible narrative that you've pointed out.

im really glad to have read everything here. i am a navajo from shiprock, nm. my grandparents use to tell stories of giants also. giants that use to kill and eat our people, until some twins that had special weapons killed them off. i used to think of them as just old folklore tales. thanks a bunch.
those who wonder who cains wife was. i watched a video where someone says that the bible is based on sumerian stories. though the sumerian texts are debated since few can read sumerian, the story is that 'gods' are aliens from planet nibiru who came to earth and created humans to be their slave. we are created in their image. like their DNA mixed with homo erectus. the adams are the males. and they called the place where they lived in mesopotamia, e-den. if all males are adam, then there could be more than one adam, and there could be other females that cain could have married.

No matter how much time or generations have passed, this would still represent the direct lineage of Adam and Eve. Now, given the very valid point that YOU have correctly pointed out, this would constitute not just genetic inbreeding but would be also considered incest. Now...as I recall from my own bible thumping days...thats a sin, perfect genes or not. In addition, the bible is quite specific in discussing the lineage of the early ancestors. You make a very bold assumption in suggesting that the children of Adam and Eve mated and produced offspring. This is in light of the fact that the descendents of Adam were named, and that incest is a terrible crime in social and religious circles (not so in royal families...but then, I am just a Knight...lol). However, I thank you for illustrating quite elegantly the problem with any prima facie interpretation or literal abstraction of the bible...it is quite simply insufficient to explain itself. It is a dated and contextual compendium selected from a body of contemporaneous works (read...censorship) which was then declared to be the cannon of christianity. Aaaahhh...if only the truth were so simple. However, please feel free to explore the vast body of evidence which unequivocally demonstrate that neither classical christian creationism or academic darwinism are entirely true and complete accounts of anthropology. Ironically, both are correct in part, but does not represent the sum of the whole truth. We are clearly the product of an advanced intellect which interrupted the process of evolution in our recent ancestors. We are a hybrid species for which there is no missing link.

Very interesting! I had an experience when I was 19 and I am constantly looking for answers at who my visitor was. He is called many names but I call him the hatman. He is seen all over the world by thousands. He showed up in my bedroom one night and he was as tall as my ceiling 8ft and he had a hat, long black coat and I could not make out his face. He had some sort of supernatural power of driving the worst fear into you. It was not a dream. It was very real. I have compared my story to others and some say he has a cane, crazy hair and red eyes. When I saw your picture of the tall indians in the long coats, hats and canes I got the creeps! There are stories of the indians seeing the hatman but they call him by another name. He has been called Spyman, watcher, tallman, hatman, darkman, top hat man, and so many more I cant think of. Hi Garry, I found Stone Artifacts which show large White Giants doing bad things to small Indian people and mostly eating them. So I started looking up on the internet and I have found alot of legend accounts which I am seeing on these stones, but The local Archaeologist say they see the art but will do nothing more so I looked up Artifact Supperssion and I believe they are doing this to me, but these sculptures in ancient stone will never change no matter who wishes yo ignore it, so I will keep on trying. Anyone who claims to have an E.T. event needs more faith in God. The point I'm trying to make here is, who do you serve ? They are ALL real but it's about your belief in one or the other.

@ Garry - I came here after seeing something about Romanian Giants. I read your short story and you made me laugh, but not in disbelief. I too grew up in those days of Creature Features but could never stay awake until 11:30PM to actually watch them.
My Grandfather (German/English)was very large also. His pinky ring fits my middle finger and his middle finger ring I can put both my index & middle finger completely into it. I'm only 5'10" the smallest of the men on my Father's side. My mother is Native American & Scott. Still I came out the runt. My Mother had a two-handed sword brought to America from England in 1842 by John Cameron who handed it down. My mom gave it to her first husband. She wanted a son but was told by a doctor she couldn't have children. A few years after a divorce she met my Father and here I am.
I have been to every site on the Net about Giants - everything real and/or fake. I can't get the info I seek but hope someday I will just go find it in a cave somewhere on my own quest of knowledge. Many Native American & South American legends are so similar that they must be from some truth. I know how the fish stories get larger with ages of telling them and some details are left out and forgotten also.
Genesis & Revelations are the two most puzzling books in the Bible. But I have learned much from them.
Giants to Dragons.
I read the Bible for info and inspiration. It can be meaningless to many and not make any sense. There are many versions that change some(key)words. But if you REALLY believe in 'God', then ask him for clarity and guidance. Do some homework and research on a word you don't understand. Don't wish for knowledge but pray aloud for it. Seek and you will find ... but be very careful of what you seek.
I've found the Bible to be a Book of answers to all my questions so far. The Living Bible is just that. Ever notice how some people are living in Heaven no matter how terrible things are ? You would think they are living in another world. Heaven is here now but we are conditioned to not see it.
Thy Will Be Done On Earth As It Is In Heaven !
Are we doing the Lords Will ?
Are we tending the Garden as he asked ?
If you ignore something then it doesn't exist !
When people tell me to get 'real' all I can do is laugh and pray for them to wake up.

Let me give you my credentials.
Average middle class family. I was born in West Palm Beach, FL. My father was a Vice Cop & my mother was a Bookkeeper at WPB First National. We also had a five acre Tropical Fish Farm in the Everglades. My first few years in school I was barely passing. I was the day-dreamer(still am)thinking about hunting & fishing and traveling to the Stars one day.
One day my mother spent $700 on a World Book Encyclopedia (1977)which was my new day dreamer. Anytime I asked a question mom would tell me to look it up. I was overwhelmed at all the knowledge in it and knew I would never learn half of it. Then a few years later I graduated from HS in 1982 from the 10th grade at 16 and joined the Army a few months later at 17. Honor Grad from Ft Sill, OK. 3 AIT's later I vagabonded my way across the USA. 42 States in 6 years looking for myself. The Prodigal Son as my mother says.
When I have those set backs in life I know it's my fault and I can't blame anyone but God. Yes, I said that the right way so Don't take it the wrong way.
What I mean is that when I forget about God and self-proclaim my achievements I stumble quickly. That's the curse put on man by God. I wouldn't fail if God didn't exist, right ? When we prove to God we trust and believe in him our lives are blessed with all good things. If you test God, he will do the same.
We believe in many things that we don't see or can't prove. It still doesn't mean it's not true or going to happen. Asking a Christian to prove that God exists is the dumbest thing a person can do or say.
I have seen a UFO but never saw an Alien driving it. So does that prove to me that aliens are real?
As a child I had an imaginary friend named Jimmy. One day my mom noticed that I didn't talk to Jimmy anymore so she asked about him. I said that he died and that was the end of it. I'm not your typical Christian, I don't believe in Cat-o-holics (pun) or even Scholars. I know all about disinformation and how the Government lies and murders first-handed. I do claim to be an honest sinner so don't call me a liar because I will throw stones back. Hey, Jesus was a rebel also ... remember he blinded a man and even kicked over the money changers tables in the Temple.
I'm not claiming to have answers to all questions but I do have good insight about many things not driven into me by people holding any credentials.
I have witnessed with one other person and a camera of a vision/hologram in the sky over Mt Rainier in WA State of our Lord and Angels with Trumpets on an unusual clear day and in only one cloud visible above to the left/North of the volcano. About 7-10 other people were present but only I and one other person could see this event happening while all others wondered what we were seeing and photographing. Yes it did show in the photo after it was developed. Yes it did change my wild ways but I did fail again many times after that. That path is very narrow to righteousness. I tried to debunk this and the best I can say is it was a holographic image that could be best described as a Michelangelo painting in the sky. Mt Rainier is about 14,000+ ft high and this image was about 1/3 of that slightly about to the left/North as I saw from the West in Centralia WA
You can now toss in your jokes about drinking and drugs all you want and I will laugh harder than you because I know and you don't and when I'm done laughing I will Pray for you.
I can quote several Biblical passages here but they will not prove anything to you or anyone. The ones that were meant to witness that event are the only ones that saw it. A few friends have seen the photo and can't even comment on it. Some people say that I am Blessed but I myself know I don't walk that straight line in my daily life. So if not a Miracle of the Lord what would you say it was? I don't even care what people think, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt! I don't even need to question the Bible anymore. I have received all the answers I need and all questions were answered from that moment in my life. Even though the Bible has been re-written and added to or taken from I still get true answers and inspiration from it. Not always immediately but they do come in the time I need them. Sometimes I don't like the answer or get it the exact way I desire.
So Dr Knight, with all those credentials, who tossed a stumbling block before your license to practice medicine and surgery in the State of California?

First, I would like to say, that I witnessed a giant sometime in the 60's, at a circus. My memories of him are very vivid, and he exuded a quiet gentleness. (I wonder where the term, "Gentle giant" came from?)
Anyway, he had reddish hair, with the same colored beard. He was VERY Viking-ish looking, as he was muscular and had a really large frame, but was not overweight. He wore a size 24 shoe, and his ring finger was the same circumference as a silver dollar. He was approximately 8'0"+ tall. I remember feeling very sorry for him, as I knew it was hard for him to live in the "real" world, without being stared at, just as he was goggled upon at the circus. I never went to another exhibit where people were viewed as mutant, because it just did NOT feel right to me.
Second, I am a true believer in God, but NOT religion. I feel religion is for controlling the masses. My "religion" is personal, and is my own path in seeking knowledge and truth, through private praying. I do not want others telling me how and what to believe.
I have had numerous experiences, not unlike Mr. Temple. I have seen 15 ft high visions of a scholar (had spectacles on), Jesus, a man and a woman in 4 large fir trees in my back property. God also spoke to me through a song that day, which I was instructed to turn on, and the words told me it was "times like these that you know Heaven does exist."
I have read a page of Psalms to a homeless man that approached my car in Seattle, who had cataracts, which I could see, and is why I read to him the Book he handed me. After handing his Bible back to him, we pulled from the parking space, and I turned back to look at him, and he was gone. There was nowhere for him to have magically vanished. I know I entertained an angel that day.
I have earnestly prayed for help in writing something personal to someone I had offended, and the words just came pouring out through my pen. It was an experience, just as the above, of which I will never forget.
I think the Bible is one of many books that is a tool for divine communication, just as music is. We just have to be open to this prospect. Try it sometime. When something is really bothering you, say a prayer. It must always be in earnestness and humility, which comes from your heart. Then when reading the Bible, as example, the answer will magically unfold.
Now I will leave you all with some interesting things to ponder, of which when I begin, you will probably already know, or think that maybe the words somehow derived from Latin. Just keep reading....
1. Genesis = Genetics
2. Adam = Atom
3. Eve = Eye
4. Ark = Arc
4. El = Electricity (El Elyon was supreme God in Ugarit text circa 1200BC)
5. Cherubim = Cerebrum (Cherubim guarded gate of Eden/Cerebrum guards our inner cranial glands)
6. 12 Apostles/12 Tribes = Twelve each cranial nerves on each side of brain.
7. 4 rivers in Eden = 4 arteries that feed brain
8. Tree of Knowledge = Cerebellum (looks like a tree)
9. Pineal gland = Third eye (this gland looks like pine cone and has rods and cones like our eyes. Jesus speaks of singular "eye." notice how reverent pine cones are at Vatican. look it up.)
10. Spine and skull-less brain looks like a serpent/snake, which reaches up to the cerebellum/tree of knowledge. Even outside of the cerebrum looks somewhat similar to scales of a snake.
11. Hippocampus = long-term memory = named from seahorse due to similar looks = Poseidon/Neptune = Pegasus = White horse that Jesus rides in on.
12. The "right" side is always spoken of in the Bible = right side of brain = creativity = look beyond logic and have faith, using the pineal gland to connect through prayer.
The Garden of Eden is a state of mind and consciousness. It is the tree of knowledge that feeds the right side, but the Tree of good and evil feeds the left. Steer to what is "right."
There can be no lie without truth present, just as there can be no day without night, no hot without cold, no love without hate, no white without black, etc. When you seek what is "right" and true, truth will always be present. The Bible has contradictions and out and out lies, but there is still much truth, since every force has an opposite reaction.

what's really strange to me is I have heard about a native american relative from Canada of mine. she was over 6 feet tall with RED HAIR! I had never thought anything of it except that maybe she was the result of interbreeding with the Vikings which could be a possibility. This stuff is so interesting.
It is really sad when science hides evidence that doesnt fit neatly into their narrow-minded view. How much further along would our understanding of human development be if we had ALL the facts to work with. in the late 70's i was watching a college basketball game on tv. i believe this 7' 2" player played for either ucla or usc. the commentators told who he was & his height. he was known for his extra long arms, he could palm the rim flatfooted. he did this while they were speaking of him. he is a white man & i've never heard of him again. now he could have been taller than 7' 2" it's hard to tell, but i sure would like to know what happened to this extraordinary man.
In early 1800's, in Sevier County, Arkansas, my great grandfather William Story, was mentioned in a historical publication as being head and shoulders above a crowd of men. 6' and up to 6' 8" in height has been an occurance in many of his descendants. OK, interesting article. There are likely interesting explanations that are totally grounded in reality to explain populations of large individuals, red hair or not. It's pretty clear that there are sufficient #s of main stream archaeologists, anthropologists, etc. who have hypothesis centered around the movement of early humans. Out of the millions of ancestors that led to our existence, not all sat in a hut starving to death or painting the insides of caves. Some built ships and got around! Go figure. And today 12 years olds can design apps for smart phones. Are aliens responsible?

We'll first off. This article was the best i've ever read on the subject of giants. I've seen a lot of hoax pics and a lot of pics that I believe weren't hoaxes. Everything that we know, and the way we learn, has been effected from birth and mutilated by politics and religion. The fact of the matter is...We found bones and we have folklore thats been past down throughout the centuries. I've seen human beings in my lifetime (20 years) that are giants. If the average height (in America) is approximately 6 ft. Then the basketball player shaq is considered a giant. There are giants among us. We just say its a disease and brush it off.
Now on the subject of 30 ft human giants. I believe this to be plauseable. In the time of the dinosaurs there were humans. As we all know (through science) biological creatures adapt to their environment. They also adapt according to predators in the area. It is only a plausable theory. But for humans to have survived the dinosaur age, we would have had to be giants. We would have to build structures large enough to keep the larger animals out. And in the stone age humans were incapable of achieving the height. cause as we all know T-rex's are pretty tall and pretty strong. So if we were anywhere between 20 to 30 ft tall we would be able to lift the rock we needed. and fight off (in packs) the larger dinosaurs the we are so familar with.
To see the bronosauras evolve to a giraffe and teradactles turn to our everyday birds. It is only plausable that the average 6ft tall human used to be 25 ft humans.

Your discoveries do not come as a surprise to me. Science has always tried to debunk anything that has to do with giants. I have also read commentaries by historians about the giants in Peru and other parts of the world, and about their local folklore. I do have to disagree with the statement you made in one of your comments where you say discoveries does not line up with the Bible's timeline because these skeletons are older than what the Bible says the earth is. Actually, the Bible does not say how old the earth is, man does.
Either case, I found your hub very interesting and believe in these giants as you do. I do believe the earth at one time was filled with unbelievable sized giants; it is sad that the scientific community will not admit to it. It would make all their scientific theories obsolete. Imagine all the science and history books that had to be burned if the truth was exposed.

I know of two giants. The first was a regional manager for UHaul. He was easily 7'5" and so large that he had to duck and move sideways to go through a door way. The second was a neighbor of mine for a spell. Jarrod was 7'8" and weighed in excess of 375#. He was a lumberjack (no joke here) and truly a gentle giant. He explained to me that he was the smallest of all his 6 brothers, and his father who was as he would say, "at least 6 inches taller" than Jarrod. They all worked in the mountains of Oregon; Jarrod only used our little studio apartment with adjoining kitchen to cook. He would cook soup and stew for two days, place the mixes into 5 gallon buckets and head back to the hills. I suprised him on one homecoming with a 5 gallon bucket of my spagetti sauce...he said it was the fiorst time anyone ever did anything kind for him, then explained that his and his family's diet was very strict and declined the sauce. We took it to the shelter. That was the last time I saw Jarrod as I moved shortly thereafter.

Check out Ancient Aliens on History channel. :| It talks about Aliens doing "genetic projects" throughout Mankind's history. Some of these projects included the making of giants, it's even in the bible! :/
Reminds me of the giant anunnaki who created a slave race with their own genes, that was smaller, so that they could do their job for them.

It was very refreshing after skimming so many statement based articles. As you said I do wish this article was a lot longer with more citations.
I've always an interest in giants and advanced ancient civilizations. The interest in giants I know comes from my own experience. I am personally 6' and female, my brother was 6' at 13 and is now 6'6" at 17, my great grandmother was 6'6" and all the men on both sides of my family are are over 6'3". I am predominately English, Italian, and German with literally every "white" race mixed in but interestingly both sides have "Indian" from the Nevada area only four generations back. Oh well, gotta tank my genes for getting me into modeling :-D

Since the Bible tells us God created the angels a little above man and these giants are supposed to be part fallen angel then wouldn't it stand to reason that there might be a slight difference in their DNA? I wonder if it has ever been studied?

This article about those GIANTS is most amazing... The National Geographic photos are extraordinary. Many evidences suggest of the reality of those "giants" (human beings)on our planet in long time past...Also in refference of our Holy Books...It would be most interesting for Scientists to pursue researches in that matter and tell and share with the World about the results of their researches.I once saw photos of bones from a grave and they were those of 10 to 12 feet tall humanoids...Extraordinay and very mysterious...

Mr. Knight, your earlier question regarding Cain's wife was well answered above, but your insistence that sister-marriage being a sin was not an issue as yet. As already stated, the rich genetic pool allowed for it, and Divine decree against close-relation marriage did not occur until the time of Moses. (Creation, Adam through Noah, Flood-which produced the fossil record, Noah's sons through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, then on down to Moses.)

Wow, your article was brilliant, and you have officially made me believe that giants once existed. However have you ever thought about why the animals now are so much smaller then they once where? for example giant bugs. Well the supposed answer is that the oxygen levels back then where richer which allowed animals to grow larger, so this is a possible argument for the existence of giants. However i do not understand how these giants with opposable thumbs and extreme strength and were apparently around before humans are not and were not more technologically advanced. Another point is how exactly did most of these giants die out? The common reason people seem to go for is that Human tribes hunted them to extinction, for example the story of the Native American tribe trapping the giants in a cave and burning them alive, This explanation to me seems flawed as i can hardly see a tribe of Humans who are around 5 - 6 feet tall fighting and winning against a tribe of Humans who are about 9 - 12 feet tall.
Also please make a book i would happily pay for it.

Fascinating hub. I was brought up in France, near the ancient Vosges mountain range, and there were tales of the big people - no smoke without fire. A perfect example of a verbal 'myth' kept alive throughout the ages would be in Ireland, with the Newgrange winter solstice alignment, only found to be true relatively recently

More people need to know about the history of the human story, unfortunately you and I are in the same boat and the more truth we discover the more frustrating it can be that science doesn't seem to care. I'm not so sure that it isn't quietly being kept quiet by a greater force. There is worldwide evidence as to the existence of giant humans and it really seems to make sense since there were giant animals on our planet than logic follows that there should also be larger humans. Annunaki, Nephilm, Watchers, Angels, whatever you want to call them they were here in the not to distant past. We all need to stay curious and not let these amazing discoveries of our human origins slip away or be hidden by certain "other" people who seem to want to keep it hidden..keep it up..

I have heard that there is a direct connection between the Acient Myan, Egyptians, and so-called Alien races - and todays Glbal Elite, such as Global Bankers, the Masons and or Illumante.
In other words: the elite of today can have their roots traced back to the ancient ones - peoples who are actually decended from Alien Being.

Nice fiction for some people, but I don't know. It is too SF for me like UFO's and stuff. Why would the mainstream historians try to deny the fact of living giants in the past... It's a fun thing to do for free time but real evidence and change course of history that is written not likely. Are there really treasure hunters like Indiana Jones around that look for the lost ark and fountain of youth, etc. They claim they found Noah's Ark in Turkey...UFO's all around... Piramid's are not in these days aren't they?
In the Genesis 6:4 when it says "sons of God" I think he is refering to the men of Jerusalem.
In other versions it is saying the "sons of God" went and lay with the daughters of the Nephilim, and thus boar "heroes of old"

As for me, I believe the Bible is right, that includes the existence of "extra tall beeings". I think there are only two ways how to look at the subject. Either you believe science theories, or the Bible. There is no other way. And yes - "religious word" will always have a "problem" with Bible. Believer believes Bible.
I would like to recommend you to read a sermon from William Branham - Serpent seed. Plc read it with your Bible (and your hart)open. You will have ALL the answers you are after - as to who were those giants and what was the original sin, which resulted in those beeings. All the anwers are in the Bible, no where else.
I have also came accross the book - "Forbidden Archeology", and what was interesting there - was the explonation of "problems" with a carbon (and other)dating.. It is up to all of us to make the decision if we believe the word of a man or the Word of God.

Hi Garry, this is a really interesting article you have. I've been introduced to the notion of giants recently from two very interesting sources that you should look into. The first time I heard about it was from the great turn of the 20th century scholar, Manly P. Hall, who's works are vast and incredible and cover everything from the Atlantis to the paths of Yoga. Particularly in his lecture "The Atlantean Hypothesis" you'll find giants mentioned.
The second is from T. Lobsang Rampa, who claims to have been a Tibetan Lama. In his book, "The Third Eye" he describes his life in Tibet as well as his learning the secret history of the world.
Manly is a very credible source while Lobsang has some controversy surrounding his legitimacy. I wouldn't hesitate to check them out though!
People first became first in South America(Andes). Fossils will be found there. Big skulls and big bones of giant humans are just the beginning. Scientists will find that in the future. Basically people now that live in both of America live on the old world. Basically they went into death.

I am a white male. My people being from North Carolina. I am 6'6",my sister 6', my father 6'6",my mother 6', my father's grandfather 6'6", his great grandfather was an american indian that was said to be extremely tall(very unusual),my mothers mother 6', her grandfather 6'6".Family stories say they were taller and more course in build father back. More than half were blond or redheads with many like me and my father and son, born blond and blue changing in our twenties to dark brown and hazel or green.I do not think there is any unusal racial make up unless we discuss the redheads. They were hot tempered and mean, every last one of them.

I found your site because I watched an H2/History Channel Ancient Aliens episode tonight, which sparked my interest further and led me here after a google search on giant peoples remains. Among other things, this episode of H2 covered the Bible, Koran, and other ancient texts where they each spoke of Giants on the earth. H2 is an awesome channel btw...especially the Ancient Astronauts/Aliens series....oh...sorry I digress. Anyway, they covered the giant red headed remains found in the cave in Nevada and the Native American peoples claims of fighting with them. They even showed the actual jaw and teeth of one of them. The scientist in that part of the show commented that he didn't understand why they aren't on display and that they're kept in a locked cabinet where no one can see them! Strange...I'd love to have a look.

It would seem that we are in agreement regarding the issues discussed....I am researching a tangant regarding the moving and placing of large carved stones...you have a picture of one of the subjects in mind, on this site. My thoughts are: Levitation is a phenomena existing in the world today, I actually know a lady who would levitate on a regular basis. This favour from the spritual realm is never free...there is a price. This same lady has renounced her affiliation with the power she tapped into, and gave herself completely to Jesus Christ, and received Him as her Saviour and Lord...as I have also. Is it, in your opinion possible the these mystery rocks were levitated into place, each of the civilizations in question have performed ritualistic sacrifices of human life and blood ! could there in fact be a connection? I ended up reading your work on giants because I am writing a book and with research I ended up here and I am still looking for any information I could use or is in the public domain especially where scientists are in agreement that they existed. I noticed that you were part of a team looking for Atlantis. I am no longer looking for Atlantis. Is there anyone that could be contacted in connection with looking for A Atlantis. Talk of vimanas and people with huge scull cavities which had to increase cognitive ability makes you think there could be more to it and as we see it would be swept under the carpet. I am a self taught geologist and I will prove this, if you go to earthtools.org and look for [36.4286s 149.5238e] and [36.4287 and 149.5391] you will see where the top of the mountain has cracked when the quartz has put pressure from underneath and lifted the top off the mountain so that the quartz can pour out in a pooling fashion in a north south line of which part of it is 36.4028s 149.5096. This is national park and I can't go detecting there but I hope you find it interesting as I did.
This has been a very interesting read. Not only was the article well written, but the comments have been more interesting to me. I'm impressed that so many people have kept a relatively open mind on this subject and have kept your comments reasonably kind to other people. That is a rare thing in this field of study. I am an ex-christian. I was hardcore evangelstic for about 4 years before I really studied anything. I just blindly believed what I was told about what the bible means. Keep in mind that the hebrew bible is an account of the hebrew peoples history, just one of many ancient peoples that left written accounts. There is great wisdom in most of these books, and they are amazingly similar. Religions were made, and are made to control people. All can and have been proven to be man made, based on great ideas, but man-made nontheless. I'm not saying that God doesn't exist, I'm just saying that it's ridiculous to put God inside of any religious box. It seems more than a little silly to think that of all the people, or beings, who have ever lived on earth, that your people, in your time who follow rules mostly made up by men in relatively recent times are the ones that got it right.(Not Likely) Sorry about that rant-after what I said about people being kind. I think the earth's gravity gets stronger over time and sometimes it gets sped up due to cataclysms . Scientists just recently discovered that Neanderthals didn't die out and some people have up to 4% Neanderthal in them. There were giant animals worldwide. Humans are animals. Now animals are smaller with stronger gravity. The largest dinosaurs couldn't live on earth with today's gravity.we are the tallest when we get up in the morning then gravity goes to work. The giants are us and some of us have red hair so some dna testing needs to be done. People remember things that are unusual so the indians would not remember the black haired giants because they all had black hair but they would defiantly remember red or blond hair.

There were giant kangaroos and there's still kangaroos, there were giant elephants, rhino, wombats, apes, humans. We still have those creatures but they are smaller and our gravity is greater. Well I believe that Giants indeed walk the earth. The biblical account makes that clear.. If you would like a little insight on it, pick up the book called Patriarchs and Prophets and read the chapter called The Flood. It will add a lot of insight to what you have seen.
I came across your article because for years now I have been curious about the story my grandmother told me about the giant bones that were found in their village. After someone from the town raised this story again a few months ago, (I'd heard it a few times over the years),I found myself way too curious to leave it alone. I have spoken to several people from the village who saw the bones and swear on their life that truly believed they were very tall humans. My father remembers seeing them, (he was about 10 years old). I have asked him why no-one has ever looked into it or dug up the bones to have them dated or tested. He says that the people of the village thought that because they were found in the church grounds, it would be disrespectful to move them! This was around 1940 as my father is 80 now. The people of the village decided to place them back in the ground where they were found. My father doesn't how many there were, he said that he was so frightened when he saw one of the large skulls and teeth that he ran away. Other people that are still alive that remember when these bones were found, all say that the bones from the knee to ankle were twice the size of humans as we know them. I googled 'giant bones' as I had never seen a doco, book or ever heard of any other such claims. I was thrilled to read your blog. What is driving me crazy is WHY DOESN'T ANYONE CARE ABOUT THIS! When I tell people, they look at me and say things like 'Yeah! I wonder how big those bones have grown in these people's minds over the years! etc.. I talked to a friend about this who also wants to help out with some research and we were wondering if there were any groups we could join so that we could talk to people who share this fascination! When I was a kid a friend of the family came for a visit that was 7'1.5" tall. Being little myself, he was a giant to me. My parents happened to be painting the outside of the house while he was visiting and he offered to help. At over seven feet, his arms were over 3 feet long and therefor he had a reach of almost ten feet! This meant he could reach right up into the eaves of the house without needing a ladder, which was good because he didn't like ladders... he was afraid of heights!
